The Burning Bush: A Place to discover Your Purpose.

Homily for July 19, 2017

No human being is born useless. God has a plan for every one of us; a purpose for our existence; a fundamental task we are meant to achieve. Moses’ purpose was to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt but it was in the burning bush that he eventually discovered his purpose.

All the while Moses was growing in the house of Pharaoh, he never really knew his life had such a purpose. He only knew he loved his fellow Hebrews and could not stand the sight of an Egyptian oppressing any one of them but little did he know that right within his passion for the Hebrews contained his purpose in life.

It was in the burning bush that God spoke to him in very clear terms.

Dear friends, the burning bush represents an aspect of us that is constantly on fire yet never consumed. The burning bush are those innate passions we have which we sometimes ignore yet, if only we face them, we would discover the voice of God calling from the heart of the fire.

What are your burning passions? Do you know why you love or hate certain things? What do you really care about? Perhaps, you may not have taken your time to really ask yourself these questions but it is never too late. You need to visit your burning bush today.

Let us pray: Lord Jesus, open my heart to know why you made me. Amen.

Be Happy. Live Positive. Have Faith. It is well with you. God bless you. (Wednesday of the 15th Week in Ordinary Time. Bible Study: Exodus 3:1-6, 9-12 and Matthew 11:25-27).
